Thinking Positive

Here's to another fun week. May you find it peaceful and fulfilling!

Today's Positive Thought (Friday, February 28th, 2014)

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I hope this week has been encouraging you as it has been to me.

I had finals this week so that meant a lot of studying (yay me!). Needless to say- I'm grateful that this term is over with! :)

On Monday, February 24, 2014, Chelsea Avery (a fellow blogger and wife of Ryan Avery- who happens to be the youngest world champion of public speaking- at the age of 25!) posted on her blog about the 50 Day Challenge- to which I challenged myself to follow. Like most people, I get encouraged to start something to improve myself and then after a few days, kinda lose....well, motivation. So, to keep myself accountable, I reached out to Chelsea and let her know that I was on board. This week has definitely had it's challenges but because I said I would do this- I'm going to stick to my guns and follow through. I love putting myself through a challenge. I began over 3 years ago on a journey to self-improvement and self awareness. I did this because of circumstances in my life that held me back and I allowed it to happen. I did my first (and only to date) half-marathon back in April of 2011 and also began bike riding to which I have done one 76 mile ride at the Peach of a Century back in September of 2011 and then in April of 2011 did 30 miles of the Monster Cookie Metric (I had had surgery 10 weeks prior to that and so I knew I wouldn't be up to the whole 62 miles). There have been setbacks in my life but my path in life has not ended- just on a small detour. :)

So- are you up to this? Yes, I know it's almost been a week since the 50 Day Challenge started, but it's never to late!

My challenges to myself are this:

*consistency with my blog- at least twice a week

*Walk on my treadmill for 4 days a week for 20 minutes

*Talk to at least one person daily for encouragement

As I said- this week has had it's challenges but I continue to plug away and keep moving forward. Since this is the first day this week of me blogging- I will also post tomorrow to keep good on my word with the 50 Day Challenge.

If you happen to post on Facebook that you are going to be a part of the 50 Day Challenge- be sure to tag it with the hashtag #50daychallenge- along with Twitter and Instagram.

Questions for today:

1. Have you ever been a part of a challenge that inspired you to get moving?

2. How can you encourage others to be a part of the 50 Day Challenge?

3. Any plans for the weekend?

Happy Friday!
